Traditional Silk sarees

Pothys unveils unique 'Parampariya Pattu' saree Tamil Nadu's leading textile store Pothys today unveiled a unique 'Parampariya Pattu' (traditional silk saree) with 1000 different blooms woven in it to mark the Diwali festival.


The peacock blue saree with oil mustard border was launched by Pothys Brand Ambassador and noted Carnatic vocalist Sudha Raghunathan. Speaking at the launch function, Pothys Managing Director Ramesh said the unique saree was part of the Pothy's tradition to bring out finest silks to keep the rich art of silk weaving alive by introducing a new concept every Diwali.


He said it took nearly 18 months of research and about 40 days to weave the silk saree. Among the flowers that were woven in saree included Morning Glory, Kurinji, Daffodils, Orchids, Jasmine, World's biggest flower Rafflieshe Arnoldii (found only in Indonesia and weighs 15 pounds) and Shiroli Lilli (heavenly flower found only in Mizoram).
